5/9
The first message I send in the morning is a confession to my boyfriend as a secret life of a cold blooded killer.
Between the hours of 2 and 5 am approximately 6 mosquito were brutally murdered by suspect Jessica Probst. Media is shocked, questioning how Probst could possibly sleep soundly at night. The answer? Free of obnoxious buzzing from 5 until 9 am.I tried really hard to enjoy the muffin, and the taste is great! But the texture is incredible dry. ): However, the ample size of the blueberries definitely makes up for it. And they certainly didn't skimp out on their presence.
I give Arthur a positive review on his Youtube channels, wishing him a good future in his career as a vlogger. After working and updating my Youtube channel yet again, I try the cafe down the street to see if they carried soy milk. When I came in, the lady turned around with a jump, apologizing for her reaction but that she hadn't expected me and that I was so pretty it was shocking. I almost cried. She herself, maybe in her mid 30s was absolutely stunning.
Cafe 88.1 is nestled into the bottom corner of a business complex between 신촌(Sinchon) and 홍대 (Hongdae). Its interior is filled with neons and pink tones and radiates a nostalgic, summer, 80s vibe with a modern twist. Barbie could have run the place for all I knew.
They offer a variety of drinks as well as bakery items and the CUTEST CHEESECAKE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN.
The owner informs me that there's no soy milk, and as I tell her I'd come another time and turn to leave, she recalls that they do offer a seasonal mixed grain latte! One of my favorites, this drink often came as a powder mixed with water. It kinda tastes like you're drinking bread.
She was so kind as she handed the drink to me and saw me off. The cup was incredibly darling and had a heart shaped, dome lid.
I stopped back home, creating a video tour about my current residence.
After which deciding it was a good time to start a new series on Netflix. A particular Korean drama caught my attention...
Abyss.
New episodes weekly, please do consider watching this. I got through the first two, hour long episodes, and now I'm left to wait for the third. If you like mystery, detective/cop shows, romance, or sy-fy, you will LOVE Abyss.
I decide I've been enough of a couch potato and do something I haven't done in years.
I voluntarily went on a run.
Actually I don't think I've ever done that. EVER.
But I did and actually enjoyed it as I circled the scenic park of 경의산 (Gyeongeesan) in under twenty minutes. But I was pretty dumb and had just about shot my leg between the run and all the walking I had done recently. Not to mention, my chest was aching a bit. I tend to have a low pulse, around 45 bpm, so the reaction I had wasn't too favorable.
I decided to boost my spirits by stopping by the tea shop down the street after changing back into street clothes. Its very quiet, and the owner is remarkably kind as he asks about how familiar with tea I am. I tell him not very, but that I had seen the sign outside for pineapple, cranberry, and strawberry juice. It sounded wonderful, and I inquired if they used milk to make it. THEY DID NOT! So I order it and he tells me I was free to take a seat outside and he'd bring it out for me. The juice is incredible! A perfect mix of sweet and sour juice enough to fuel me back up after some cardio.
I had adjusted myself into my pajamas for about five minutes before I decided it was WAY too early to get comfortable. Not to mention I was so sick of cup ramen. I have a bit of a fear of foods so I save my big meals for when I'm with others. The cup ramen had been doing the trick for me but I was dying for some sustenance. So I put some real clothes back on and walked down the street to the grocery store... in the most indirect fashion as possible. Sometimes it was nice just to explore all those alleyways I'd never bothered to go down.
A five minute walk turned into fifteen, I finally arrive at the store. There's a sale on strawberries, a huge package for only 3,400 원(won). I picture 민규 (Mingyu) and I sharing in the grass near 한강 (Han gang | Han River) with our fried chicken... ah how romantic~
So I nab them, along with sweet peppers, dried radish, zucchini (2 for 1,000원 (; ) and... what's THIS?
KONJAC NOODLES? FOR 1,000 원 (won)??????????
Konjac noodles are really low calorie noodles (maybe 25 calories for 200 grams) and I absolutely love their texture. When I eat I like to eat A LOT so the more noodles the BETTER. And the less guilt the better! In the states these babies run $2-$3 for just one package. I was so happy I could have peed!
But I didn't and just grabbed two packages instead.
I wasn't really sure what I was making but I knew that I was really excited to try dried radish.
And on my way home I wondered around a little longer, finding myself in a little 편의점 a little ways up the street from my home. I entered and the lady working greeted me kindly. I had come to buy 깻잎(perilla leaf), as it had been rather expensive in the grocery store. I handed it to her, inquiring how much it was. She told me it was 1,400 원, nearly double the price of what it should be. I told her I didn't want it and she agreed it was pretty expensive. I then noticed that the store carried a rather interesting variety of traditionally flavored 막걸리 (makgeolli), but by different brands. Curious, an idea suddenly popped into my mind.
미니 막걸리 먹방s (Mini Makgeolli Mukbangs).
So I pick out four different kinds and ring up, informing the kind, motherly lady that I was having 전 (jeon) with friends later. This was a lie, but I wasn't about to explain to her I wanted to do a wine tasting vlog with 막걸리.
She was sweet enough to help me load up my bag, and I waved as I told her to have a good evening.
At home, I created the world's most interesting vlog about the world's most boring 막걸리.
Afterwards I had dinner, making some sort of weird kimchi stir fried noodles.......................... It was pretty good.
AND FINALLY
I finished my night with watching Tiny House Hunters on Netflix and snacking on dried radish....... which is actually BOMB.
If you like weird snacks that is.
The. End.
